governments manipulate our journeys
and care not that there is no place for us
but you provide for us
in unexpected places
you bring your good news
to the lowliest among us
and we are terrified
we have not heard much
of good news
your angels announce joy
for all people
where no one is left out
your power shows itself
in a tiny, worn out baby
resting in a feeding trough for animals
from this beginning
you challenge all our ideas
of who you are
like the shepherds
we need to see for ourselves
we need to look at this baby
who will change the world
like the shepherds
we must share this good news
returning to our lives
with hope and wonder
i feel like mary
holding these things in my heart
wondering where this new life will take me
