Luke 1:46-56

my soul burns within me

my spirit soars

touched by the divine

the wonders i have been shown

shall pass to my children

and my children’s children

a gift for all the world

your grace is ever present

to those who seek

you bypass those who have so much

for those who are wise enough

to embrace what they have

we are impressed by presidents and prime ministers

who wield so much power

with their armies and their wealth

but you have given true treasure

to those unhonored and unloved

the egocentric and arrogant

will be brought down

they do not reign forever

they are rejected

and will never know peace

they will never know the joy of giving

of gratitude and grace

they do not understand

the promise of mercy
